EMAIL STATIONERY FAQ

Will all recipients see the stationery correctly?

Fixed-width designs ensure that email is easily readable at monitor resolutions as low as 800 x 600.

What should I do if I want to change the information?

If you need changes done to your stationery in the future, please contact FainCo Website Services and for a nominal fee we can make the changes.

Will FainCo Email Stationery work in all email programs?

No. FainCo Email Stationery only works with Outlook or Outlook Express.

What happens when you are finished designing the stationery?

Once created, we will send your new stationery to you via e-mail with complete installation and un-installation instructions.

Why the links in your stationery don't seem to work.

Hyperlinks in email do not work when you are in "compose mode" - they only work in "read mode". To test the links embedded in your stationery, compose a message and send it to yourself. You will discover that the links work correctly when you are reading the message. If your links are still not working, then the hyperlink itself may need to be corrected. Contact FainCo Website Services for help.

Why your stationery gets goofed up when some people reply to your messages.

Some email programs do not support the SENDING OF HTML email. They do, however, receive it just fine. What happens though, is that when they reply to you, they have moved out of the receiving mode and into the sending mode, which their software can't do. So, although they see your stationery displayed properly, even when they're composing their reply and pressing the send button, when it is transmitted back to you the graphics are stripped away.

How do I turn off Microsoft Word as my default email editor?

Using Microsoft Word as your default editor (instead of the editor built into Outlook) inflates the size of an average two paragraph email message by 300%. It does this by adding a massive amount of hidden formatting code that is counter productive in the email environment, and especially damaging to the formatting of your email stationery.

To Turn Word off, or just to check and see if you even have it turned on, follow these 5 steps:

  1. From you inbox click TOOLS at the top.
  2. Pull down to OPTIONS.
  3. Click the MAIL FORMAT tab.
  4. Make sure the box (near the top) that says "Use Microsoft Word as my default email editor" is UNCHECKED (if it's checked, uncheck it now).
  5. Click OK at the bottom of the options screen to save any changes you made and exit the options screen.

How do I set up spell checking in Outlook without using Word?

The only reason we've ever discovered that people like to use Word is that they like its spell checker. Follow these steps to set up spell checking in Outlook without using Word.

OPTION 1: Selective Use (IMAGE)
After composing your message, click TOOLS at the top and then select SPELLING. (Note: You'll find that spelling is turned off when the cursor is in the TO or CC fields - you must have the cursor in the SUBJECT field or in the BODY of the email to use spell check).

OPTION 2: Automatic Use (IMAGE)
From you inbox click TOOLS at the top and pull down to OPTIONS. Click the SPELLING tab and check the box that says "Always check spelling before sending".
